Partnering With K-12 Schools to Promote Student Achievement Through Parent Education.

The goal of this program is to meet the needs of parents by providing essential knowledge, skills and resources to maximize effectiveness as parents.

 

Parenting the Adolescent

Learn information about adolescent development and successful techniques for meeting the challenge of communicating, understanding fears, setting limits, developing responsibility and trust.

Family Members Interaction

Emphasizes improving relationships in the family, on the job and with other significant people. Learn anger management skills, and the causes, effects, prevention and alternatives to domestic violence and substance abuse.

Helping Your Child Succeed In School

Parents and children work side by side doing homework and using the computer to improve their reading, writing and math skills. Group discussion and activities are included to help improve family relationships and build good self-esteem.

Parent Education/Family Literacy

Parents learn about child development, acquire parenting skills and participate in educational activities that prepare children for kindergarten. The program strongly promotes family literacy.

Parent Education/Parent/Child Participation

Parents learn about child development, acquire parenting skills and participate in educational activities that prepare children for kindergarten. The program also promotes family literacy.

Parenting the Preschooler

Parents learn how to promote reading readiness skills, and child growth and development through hands on activities. This class helps prepare four year olds for kindergarten. Reading of children’s books by both parent and teacher enhances the learning.
