Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education career and technical education programs prepare
students by providing them with the entry or advanced level knowledge and skills critical for
successful employment. BPACE career and technical education programs are designed to
provide educational, vocational and technical training that will lead to specialized employment
or career advancement. Our Career Technical Education programs offers courses in over 10
career areas. You can choose to enroll in a course to develop and upgrade job skills and earn a
certificate that equips you for job entry and further education. Many of our courses and
programs prepare you to continue your education and career goals at local colleges. In
addition, our programs have been designed with the advice and counseling from advisory
committee members who volunteer their time to keep our programs current with the industry
trends and technology advancements.
Articulation agreements with colleges are established annually. Articulation is a method of rewarding student achievement in the career technical education courses taken at Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education. This allows students to continue their career education by taking an advance college level course. College units of credit is the most common form of articulation between the college and adult schools. Students participating in these agreements must meet certain requirements.
This class prepares the student to work as a Pharmacy Technician in the retail community, hospital inpatient pharmacies and other related areas. Upon completion of the program, you will be qualified to apply for the California Pharmacy Technician Board License. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
ITC offers other areas of training such as Office Specialist, Data Entry and Filing. Become Microsoft Certified in Access 2007, Word 2007, Excel 2007, Power Point 2007, Publisher 2007 and Windows Vista. The Information and Technology Center is authorized by Microsoft as an IT Academy. This means we can offer world-class computer technology training with real-world skills. This class is a multi-level basic-to-advanced automobile training program. You will learn all you need to know to work in a repair shop environment. Students will use computer programs and will be ready for entry level auto mechanic jobs or advanced training. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
Prepare for a career as an electrician by studying basic electricity and residential home wiring, industrial wiring, schematic layout, blueprint reading and introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Authorized training center by the State of California Department of Industrial Relations Division of Apprenticeship Standards. FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE
Training includes understanding how to provide technical assistance, support, and advice to computer users. This course will teach you how to troubleshoot, interpret problems and provide technical support for hardware, software and systems. Gain hands-on experience repairing, building, and trouble-shooting computers in a classroom that also serves as a computer repair center. Learn the basics of small restaurant management and catering in a hands-on learning environment. Students will also be prepared to take the Certified Food Handlers Exam. This course covers food preparation, customer service, table set-up and basics of small restaurant management. The law mandates that one person in a facility must be a certified food handler. Obtaining this certificate enables you to enter the culinary field at a higher level.
